If I remember correctly - which these days, is a big if - back around 2006 or so, Denny Tedesco was trying to get the support he needed (I assume money) to finish the Wrecking Crew film. He did a local screening in Topanga of what I think was the not-quite-finished film. I can't remember if you came to it, Joel, but it was spectacular.
Ha! Memory :) I don't think I went to that one but remember going to another that Hal Blaine was at. As you very well know, raising funds and making a film can be a very long process. And yes, he made a fantastic film. You may have seen his follow up film, Immediate Family about the next generation of studio musicians. Also worth watching.
Thank you for reminding me about all these! One for the future that’s probably on your list already: Peter Jackson’s “Get Back”, possibly (to my mind) one of the greatest music docs ever made. 🪲🎸

Just watched a doc about Stax on HBO. Amazing and ultimately heartbreaking.
Yes!! I love that series. It misses a few points/people but every film needs to make concessions. What is there is excellent and I've recommended this to lots of people. Thanks for adding it to the conversation. Here's a link to a podcast which intersects with Stax on ocassion. In this episode about Jerry Wexler, Stax comes up a few times - amazing stories. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/side-1-track-2-r-e-s-p-e-c-t-jerry-wexler-an-homage-paul-wexler/id1885956532?i=1000757078240
What points do you think are missing Joel? Would love to hear em. Thanks for the link!
Not so much "points", but people. It's impossible to fit everyone into a film. Ultimately the hard decision needs to be made.
Great post! Thanks for sharing your past projects.
Good to hear from you, Tom. For clarity, I didn't work on any of these films, but I love them all, and you might too :)

I loved Get Back. It’s quite amazing… and yes, there are many more to see :).
